I don't know why so many people dislike Rap/Hip Hop. I'm on your boat, and I agree Kayne is a dumbfuck.
I really think it has to do with either a natural fear of black people or people just stereotyping the genre as a whole. Strangely enough, those thoughts are dumber than the stereotypes (in my opinion at least)

I actually used one of their songs in a seminar presentation in college. The class concerned the Book of Revelations, and one of their raps was verbatim from the scripture.

Hip hop is the culture, and rap is the act of music within that culture. Anything you consider hip hop is actually rap but with what you perceive as more positive/intelligent messages in the songs.
